Park Ji Sung does his part for charity with '3rd Asian Dream Cup' - Yahoo! Philippines News

JS Foundation which is founded by Korean football star Park Ji Sung held its ‘3rd Asian Dream Cup’ charity match on June 23rd at Shanghai’s Hongkou Football Stadium. Besides famous football stars invited by Park Ji Sung, the event also saw the presence of Korean celebrities like Yoo Jae Suk, Kim Jong Kook, Lee Kwang Soo, HaHa, SHINee’s Minho, and many others.

The inaugural ‘Asian Dream Cup’ was held in Vietnam back in 2011, and is now into its 3rd edition. The event was started by Park Ji Sung who serves as the chairman of his charity organization JS Foundation, and was co-organized by Samsung Auto Insurance and HS Media.

Park Ji Sung said at the press conference, “The holding of the ‘Asian Dream Cup’ is to help raise funds to improve footballing standards among children in South East Asia. It hopes to instil hope in children who have dreams of becoming footballers. We hope that this event will also help to give hope to all those affected by the devastating Sichuan Earthquake. We feel really happy to be able to organize such a meaningful event in China, and I personally feel very honoured.”

Stars invited to the event were separated into two teams, and they include Lee Chung Yong (Bolton Wanderers), Ji Dong Won (Sunderland), Patrice Evra (Manchester United), Kim Bo Kyung (Cardiff City), SHINee’s Minho, EXO-M’s Luhan and Xiumin, the cast of SBS TV ‘Running Man (Ji Suk Jin, Yoo Jae Suk, Kim Jong Kook, Song Ji Hyo, Gary, HaHa, Lee Kwang Soo), and 2002 China national football team captain Fan Zhi Yi who led his Shanghai team.

Proceeds from the ‘3rd Asian Dream Cup’ will be donated to all those affected by earthquake in Sichuan Province, Lushan.
