Psy Takes Home 'Billboard Top Streaming Song Video Award' - KpopStarz

Psy has become the first to Korean artist to receive an award at Billboard Music Award.

At 2013 Billboard Music Award held in Las Vegas MGM Grand held on May 20, Psy took home the honor of Top Streaming Song Video with his mega hit from last year, "Gangnam Style," which has recorded over 1.6 billion YouTube hits since its release. The competitors for the award included Taylor Swift and Carly Rae Japsen, definitely not a shabby bunch.

Psy, who was also nominated for five other categories, did make it through in any other awards. Still, he did write history by becoming the first artist from Korea to receive a Billboard music award.

Top Streaming Song Video, the award won by Psy, is given to the music video that has collected the most number of views in media such as YouTube and other SNS avenues. Currently the most watched YouTube video of all time, "Gangnam Style" was no surprise the winner for the category.

Prior to the announcement of Top Streaming Song Video award, Psy went on stage and performed with Tracy Morgan, the MC, dancing along with him. With the showcase of 'crab dance' and Tracy Morgan's "Gangnam Style" outfit, the neon suit worn by comedian Yoo Jae Suk, fired up the crowd at 2013 Billboard Music Award.
