The Shinhwa members (without Kim Dong Wan) will be doing battle with the cast of ‘Running Man’ in the upcoming episode on September 1st.
In the previous episode on August 25th, the Shinhwa members had made a surprise appearance on a pirate ship, while shouting in unison ‘we’re pirates’. The ‘Running Man’ cast members were momentarily shocked to see them appear, and the closing hinted at a highly anticipated battle between the two groups. Long regarded as all-rounded athletes, Yoo Jae Suk said nervously of Shinhwa, “They can beat down their opponents, and still have the energy to vie with each other. They are a super strong unit.”
Having become pirates, the Shinhwa members worked to grab the gold coins that the ‘Running Man’ cast members had earned in the previous episode. But the gold coins had turned into worthless metals after having a curse placed on them. To turn them back into gold coins, the members would have to complete a series of missions.
The Shinhwa members who have been together for 15 years, showed great chemistry during the missions and posed a huge threat to the ‘Running Man’ cast members. The members said excitedly, “The real athletes have gathered together,” and “They are like all-rounded athletes.”
Shinhwa’s Andy kept fouling during the missions, and was hailed as the Shinhwa equivalent of ‘Kwang Soo’. Meanwhile, Eric wasn’t as perfect as he looked as he kept screwing up, and brought much laughter to everyone while showing his strength as a variety idol pioneer.
To lift the curse, the members then engaged in a name-tag battle. With the experienced ‘Running Man’ cast members going up against the athletic Shinhwa members, and viewers are in for a treat as no one can predict who will come out on top in the ultimate showdown.
